Corporate movements in the financial sector
published: Sunday | November 25, 2007

November seemed to be the period for corporate movements. Perhaps the timing is in preparation for a new year.

  • At the top of November, it was announced by the Capital and Credit Financial Group that Richard Dyche, executive vice- president of Capital and Credit Merchant Bank (CCMB), and Edmond Marsh, senior vice-president of CCMB, were no longer members of staff.

CCMB Chief Executive Officer Curtis Martin said those positions were made redundant as a direct consequence of the group restruc-turing itself.

  • Later during the month, NCB Capital Markets informed that its assistant vice-president of risk and compliance, Robert Barnes, had tendered his resignation.

  • NCB Capital Market had also lost another executive, Debra Lopez, vice-president and head of wealth management and distribution, but this was two months earlier.

  • Lopez joins FirstCaribbean in January as director of wealth management and not as head of capital markets, as reported in a headline Friday.

  • Garfield Sinclair also resigned from the board of directors of Dehring Bunting and Golding Limited, effective November 1.

  • At the Scotia Group Jamaica, Monique French was appointed senior vice-president, risk manage-ment of the Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Limited, effective Novem-ber 1, replacing Ronald Bourdeau, an expatriate who is departing the organisation.
