The Editor, Sir:I take this opportunity, on behalf of my family and myself to say "Thank you" to Cpl. Boris Gardener of the police post at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
At about 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, I suffered the misfortune of having diesel fuel pumped into the fuel tank of my motor vehicle which uses unleaded gasolene. Within minutes of my vehicle shutting off, an off-duty policeman was passing by and stopped to enquire what the problem was. After being told the problem he offered to accompany me on my return to the offending petrol station. To make matters worse the rain was pouring. Luckily, and without much ado, the pump attendant admitted her error in pumping the wrong fuel into my vehicle. The manager was called and he too was quite accommodating.
Good job
Eventually, the vehicle had to be towed downtown to the dealers so that the tank could be drained and the problem rectified. The ordeal ended at about 5:00 p.m. During that time Cpl. Gardener stayed with me and my family, ensuring that the offending parties behaved accordingly and that we were safe.
Corporal Gardener, we really appreciate what you did for us. May God bless you and keep you and your loved ones safe. Thanks again. Walk Good.
I am, etc.,
Dr. LORI PLAYFAIR
