Wizards, Tivoli in NBL feature
published: Saturday | November 3, 2007

Anthony Minott, Freelance Writer

Eight teams, including defending champions St. George's Slayers, will be seeking a hold on the 2007 KFC National Basketball League (NBL) crown, when the play-offs begin this evening at the Stadium Courts, weather permitting.

In the evening's first encounter, mid-season champs Urban Knights will face Arnett Gardens Rockers in a 6:00 p.m. match-up. Knights will depend on Linton Murray, former St. Catherine High School star Javon Bailey and Fernando Young for their points.

Rockers, on the other hand, should counter through their young star, Kwame Lawrence, Ian Gooden and Vivian Spence.

While at 7:45 p.m., hot debutants Majesty Gardens take on Blazing Panthers. Majesty, with the likes of Barrington Berry, Kemar McLeish and team leader Baldon Todd in their line-up, will keep the Panthers defence busy.

On Sunday, St. George's Slayers, the reigning champs, take on Runnin' Rebels at 5:00 p.m.
