McDonald nets hat-trick
published: Monday | October 29, 2007

Despite the inclement weather, nothing could deter former champions Boys' Town from downing Sporting Central 4-1 in the Cash Plus Premier League game yesterday at Boys' Town.

Boys' Town were in top form throughout the game as striker Oneil McDonald registered a hat-trick to propel his team to victory. McDonald scored in the 22nd, 38th and 63rd minutes, while Michael Campbell completed the tally with a shot from inside the six-yard box in the 88th minute. Sporting Central scored their only goal in the 73rd minute from Winston Griffiths.

Throughout the first half, Sporting Central were no match for Boys' Town who kept possession of the ball for most of the period, resulting in a 2-0 lead. When play resumed in the second half, Boys' Town continued to dominate midfield, this despite substitutions made by Sporting Central.

Andrew Price, coach of Boys' Town, said: "We are by no means satisfied with what took place here today. We got three points and that was important to get back on the winning track. We have been keeping a lot of possession, having a lot of territorial advantage but not scoring. Our defence stood up stoutly today and we were able to get on our goal-scoring shoes."
