The Court of Appeal has ruled that the Jamaican Government should confiscate the US$800,000 that was found in the luggage of four Columbians two years ago.
The Columbians were about to board a flight from Kingston in April 2005 when the money was found in their luggage.
The men also had US$26,000 dollars on their person, but the court ruled that this sum must be returned to them.
One of the men said he received the money after he sold his properties in Columbia.
Last year, the Columbians were tried in a Resident Magistrate's Court and a ruling was made that both the US$26,000 that was found on them and the US$800,000 dollars that was found in their luggage should be confiscated.
The Resident Magistrate made the ruling because he was not satisfied with the account as to how they came in possession of the money.
