Getting a visa
I have heard a lot of people saying that they would like to travel to the States to work and help their family because things are very stiff in Jamaica but when they go to the embassy two or four times they get turned down. Why? Some people don't deserve to get a visa because they go to the States and mash it up. They should use a police record to see the type of person they are sending. There are people trying for the second time. The embassy should try to help them, because it is very hard to pay that money and not get through.

No to monarchy
To Mr. Golding and the government, you are public servants, therefore please get public input concerning constitutional reform. As a democracy we cannot continue to be beholden to a foreign power (British monarchy). This needs to end. It is vital to any person, and by extension, group of people, to be in control of their own destiny without threat of their decisions being overruled. End it!

Housing need
I am a poor person living in Burnt Savannah district, Westmoreland. I am asking any kind person(s) who have land from Farm Pen to Savanna-La-Mar and from Savanna-la-Mar to Negril who don't intend to use those empty lands to put up some signs for lease or for sale. There are a lot of people who need land to put a house on. Persons who have land that can be divided in small lots should do that so that whosoever will, can buy. Next, the National Housing Trust should assist those who have been working for years and need a house.

Job permits
While I applaud the Hon. Pearnel Charles for seeking to train the unskilled workers who turned up for work abroad, I must ask him to get emergency permits for some of these people to get jobs in the US, to reap onions and apples which are about to spoil if not reaped immediately. The owners of this fields are greatly concerned as the US is clamping down on non-immigrant labourers without permits.
