Waterhouse registered a second consecutive win at home in the Cash Plus Premier League (CPPL) when they turned back a spirited Reno 2-1 in fourth round action at Waterhouse Mini Stadium yesterday to move to seven points.

Former Waterhouse striker Shane Edwards gave the Drewsland team a 27th-minute gift when he powered a well-place header from a corner high into the roof of the net. The unfortunate Reno then found themselves further down two minutes later when Waterhouse striker Jomo Gordon's 29th minute low free kick went through the wall and into the goal.

"We were a bit unlucky to find ourselves trailing by that margin in the first half, I don't think we played that badly today," said Reno assistant coach Aaron Lawrence.

Despite dominating the first 20 minutes of the second half, the substitution of Waterhouse central midfielder Ramon Bailey and the introduction of Reno's speedy striker Ricardo Scott would see Reno gain the ascendancy.

Scott was brought down in the area from a rash challenge by Desmond Breakenridge and Nicholay Findlayson stepped up to coolly beat Waterhouse custodian Richard McCallum from the penalty spot. But that would be their only goal and the loss left them on two points.

"Everyone has been working hard, Reno is a good team, I know them well, so this was a good win for us," said Waterhouse coach Danilo Barriga.
