DaCosta Cup d-day
published: Monday | October 22, 2007

Adrian Frater, News Editor

Western Bureau:

One inter-zone place and several Ben Francis Cup KO slots will be up for grabs this afternoon when action resumes in the 2007 ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel daCosta Cup Football Competition, with a series of rescheduled games.

In Zone A where Cornwall (24) took zone honours and the Ben Francis KO slot, St. James High (16) and Irwin High (11), which have an outstanding game, face crucial situations when they come against the out-of-contention Anchovy and front-runner Cornwall College, respectively.

While St. James High would be home and dry should they repeat their first-round win against Anchovy and Cornwall College do the same against Irwin, any other result would leave both teams in the hunt with their rescheduled return games, slated for Wednesday, becoming the decider.

The other inter-zone place to be decided is in Zone H, where Clarendon College (25) have taken one slot, leaving the other up for grabs between Denbigh, which have completed their fixture with 23 points, and Lennon, which have 20 points and an outstanding game.

While the inter-zone places have been decided in Zone B, the Ben Francis KO slot has not been decided as Rusea's and Frome are locked on 24 points with this afternoon's rescheduled games, which will see Rusea's away to Merlene Ottey and Frome away to Cambridge to completing the fixture.
