Immigration attorney to speak at inaugural conference
published: Monday | October 22, 2007

Walker-Huntington

The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ), in association with attorney-at-law, Dahlia Walker-Huntington, and the Jamaica National Building Society, will be staging the inaugural seminar on the Nuts and Bolts of Business Expansion into the United States market, to take place on November 21.

The seminar is geared towards business people in Jamaica who want to explore expanding their businesses into the United States, and will highlight U.S. immigration requirements, tax and accounting regulations for both Jamaica and the United States, entity creation, and the necessary permits that must be clearly understood before setting up a business in the United States.

Main presenter

Mrs. Walker-Huntington will be the main presenter at the conference, along with fellow Florida attorney-at-law, Oliver Langstadt, and CPA Leary Mullings. Walker-Huntington and Mullings operate both in Florida and Jamaica.

"In my experiences as an attorney, I have come across many individuals, both here and abroad, who are desirous of expanding their businesses overseas, but are not legally aware of what is needed to do so," said Walker-Huntington, who is also the host of Your Legal Corner on Power 106. "We hope that this conference will be able to provide interested individuals with all the information they may need to take their businesses to the next level."

In addition to the Nuts and Bolts Conference, Mrs. Walker-Huntington will be the guest speaker at the PSOJ/Cable and Wireless Jamaica Job Creation Awards, scheduled to take place October 23 at the Terra Nova Hotel.
