In search of perfection
published: Monday | October 22, 2007

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I BECOME very wary of persons who begin a conversation advising that they are Christians. It is my firm belief that if you believe in the teachings of Jesus and pay attention to the 10 commandments and the sermon on the mount, you should be at peace, and this peace will surround you and you will try to live each day as if it was your last.

The saying 'I shall pass this way once' is so true, and it literally means that each human being should really endeavour to be as near perfect as possible. This is a very hard thing to do because Satan is ever present. There is so much we humans could do for all on planet Earth, but we allow all temptations to lead us astray and thus, the world cannot find the way to live with one another in peace.

Just looking at the state of the world is enough to send one around the bend and, unfortunately, the finger has to point directly at each of us because we have failed over centuries to evolve as near perfect as possible.

Can we collectively try and stop the very many little wars around the globe and reach out and touch one another saying those precious words, 'I love you my brother or sister'? Can we try? Hopefully, we will.

I am, etc.,
