Supporting crime fighters
published: Monday | October 22, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

After having read the story online this morning about the operational successes of Kingfish we cannot doubt the seriousness and effectiveness of this plan put in place since June 2004. Glenmore Hinds and the other many agencies behind this effort are to be congratulated.

Crime in its many forms has turned away many a Jamaican wanting to return home. This has been the main deterrent. Like many other facets of jamaican life that need fixing, we must support the crime fighters in whatever form they claim to be.

Crime fighting must be seen to be intolerant of the gunmen and the many other evildoers who walk among us, our resolve must be brutal and decisive. Those who understand evil, pardon it; those who resent it, destroy it. Let this renewed effort of our crime fighters be a thorn in the backs of the many who want to ruin our beautiful Jamaica. Moderation against evil will not work. This must be seen as Jamaica's finest hour in our resolve to eliminate the dirt in our society.

I am, etc.,
