Flood damage
From personal observation, some of the flooding from the October rains that occurred in Serge Island, Seaforth, York and the Morant Main Road and other adjoining communities in St. Thomas causing damage was a result of negligence, or slow response, from the appropriate authorities as it relates to drainage cleaning. This problem is known to the Parish Council and other government agencies.
Residents who are living 'at their own risk' in some flood-prone areas, and other unauthorised areas, should be forced to move by the Government. On the other hand, some residents can do more by resorting to community-based efforts in order to help themselves.

Security alert
Be very wary of the area on Washington Boulevard, between Patrick Drive and the Kingston Open Bible Church (at the bridge). After an incident that was reported to the police, they (the police) confirmed that thieves have been throwing large stones at vehicles to shatter the window glass in order to get the driver to stop so that the thieves can rob persons. This happened the night of October 18, at approximately 8:30 p.m.
Please be very careful at nights in this area when waiting for the stop lights to change.

Land title
I have just bought a piece of land in Jamaica and am still going through with it. Can I get the web address for the Registrar of Titles to find out how do I go about getting the title?

Farm the deserts!
The damage posed by rising sea water needs to be addressed. As a farmer, I think I have the solution to this rise of the sea level.
I propose that we use the excess water to farm the deserts and cultivate them wherever on the Earth they are. Build roads and reservoirs and canals, depending on elevation for gravity-fed systems. I say this: if you can't go to the sea to farm, bring the sea to the farmer, desalted where necessary.
This is the biggest project the world will ever see. So on to City Sahara! To City Mohave, to all desert cities where and when we build them replications of Venice, every square, triangle, you name it: of land or cavity being utilised for industrial purposes. Plant trees for food, trees for industry; fish for food, fish for industry and, most important, and at this time, ethanol. We have got to farm the deserts.
