Waist Management
published: Monday | October 8, 2007

Sacha Walters, Staff Reporter

This chain with semi-precious stones adds a little oomph to the waistline.

Wear them whatever way you choose; around your waist or above, because belts have evolved beyond simply keeping your pants and skirts in place.

Pencil-thin, ultra-wide or somewhere in between, any way the belt is a great fashion accessory.

Accentuate your mid-section this season with the ultra-wide, corset belt with double and triple buckles which are on the fashion radar and will help you do exactly that. Design lines like Burberry, Celine and Fendi have all reflected the trend in their runway shows heralding the move from the soft, large buckle belt was which wrapped around almost every woman's mid-section not too long ago.

The ultra-thin belt is also on the waist and even under the bust this season offering more decoration than support.

To track some of the options out there, Flair visited Heart and Sole at 20 Barbican Road to find the hottest belts for the season.

A more traditional leather belt.

Above: Detailed stitchery and intricate pattern combined with an eye-catching buckle make this a belt a statement maker.

Right: This outfit shows off two trends for the season, the leopard print and the wide waist belt.

Conservative and suitable for the office.

Intricately plaited design resulting in a wide belt for any occasion.
