New procedures for Canadian visa application

Jamaicans should expect new visa fee-payment procedures to access services from the High Commission of Canada effective Monday, October 1.

The fees for temporary resident (visitor) visa applications in Jamaica should now be paid at any Scotiabank branch. A transaction fee of J$150 per application will be collected by the bank.

Receipts

The bank will issue a receipt (two copies) upon payment of the processing and transaction fees. Temporary resident visa applicants are also required to submit both copies of the Scotiabank fee receipt to the Immigration Section at the High Commission of Canada.

Applicants can visit the high commission's web site at www.kingston.gc.ca for more details on applying for a visa to enter Canada.

Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) single entry CAD$75

Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) multiple entry CAD$150

Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) family maximum CAD$400

Study Permit CAD$125

Work Permit CAD$150
