Postal offer
I was just reading about the conditions of the post offices in St. Ann and as a little girl I was very impressed by the post office and the people who worked in that facility.
Would Mr. McCloud inform us how to help in rebuilding this and other post offices in that area?
My husband is a contractor and would love to give his service in the electrical area. He held Jamaican licences for many years and would love to offer his services.

Maturity lacking
The recent defeat by the PNP at the polls should have signalled a new era in Jamaica's politics, one in which the political tug of war became a thing of the past.
However, the sentiments by Mrs. Simpson Miller on Sunday provide testimony to the fact that a government of national unity is nowhere in sight. The type of maturity that is expected of our leaders is lacking.
At this juncture, it's time we focus on Jamaica's development and not simply partisan issues. Jamaica deserves a change.
Let's unite for a better future for our country.

People as people
As I recall, the 'seekers of votes' from ordinary people came through West Rural St. Andrew in a little community a mile from Golden Spring called Faith Home. They parked their clean vehicles on asphalted roadways and walked the walk of the ordinary people because you get around faster walking.
The road in Faith Home is likened to the Wag Water River bed when it is dried up.
As I can recall, the road was fixed (not patched) from one end to the other when the late Madam Rose Leon was Member of Parliament.
Sir, my heart's desire and prayer for my country is that politicians see people as people and not as Socialist or Labourite. I wish my Prime Minister well and may God grant him the serenity to accept the things he cannot change and the wisdom to know the difference.

Advice to candidates
In view of the debate about persons bearing dual citizenship and running for elected legislative post, there are still things that the public needs to know.
For the larger voting population and those in the diaspora I would like to ask the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Dorothy Lightbourne to simply state what our constitution says about candidates contesting the Local Government elections - who can be a candidate and what the constitution demands of a candidate.
If these things are debated and answered before, it can solve much of the problems we wind up with after.
