A CRICKET book, written by veteran sports journalist Tony Becca, is now on the stands at Sangster's Book Stores.
Becca, former Sports Editor at the now defunct Jamaica Daily News and The Gleaner, covered West Indies around the world for more than 30 years starting in 1974.
During that time he reported on more than 150 Test matches and 'Souvenirs' describes some of the greatest performances and relates a number of personal experiences during that period.
The performances include colourful and vivid descriptions of some of the finest innings ever played by a West Indian and against the West Indies; some of the finest bowling performances by a West Indian and against the West Indies; some of the finest team performances by the West Indies and against the West Indies, and Becca's experiences include meeting the great Don Bradman of Australia, an early morning meeting with Nelson Mandela in Soweto, face down under three guns on the asphalt in Soweto and after a search at the airport, being banned from Guyana.
'Souvenirs' is priced at $2,000 per copy.
