


( L - R ) Spencer, Nelson, Charles Two vice-presidents of the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union (BITU) are to be replaced at its tri-annual conference next month.
This is according to Dwight Nelson, vice-president of the BITU. Mr. Nelson who has been appointed as a Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Finance and Public Service said he and Pearnel Charles would not be seeking re-election.
Mr. Charles was also on Wednesday appointed by Prime Minister Bruce Golding as Minister of Labour and Social Security. Mr. Nelson could not say whether Rudyard Spencer, who is president of the BITU, would be replaced.
Attempts by The Gleaner to get a response from Mr. Spencer as to his future in the BITU, were unsuccessful.
Mr. Spencer was also named in Mr. Golding's 18-member Cabinet and will be sworn in today as the Minister of Health and the Environment.
