One dead, two injured in Montego Bay attack - St. James murder figure soars to 104 since January
published: Friday | September 7, 2007

WESTERN BUREAU:

Gunmen killed a man and wounded two women during an attack in Ros Montego Bay, St. James, on Wednesday night.

Investigators are still without a lead into the incident, which has pushed the parish's murder figure to 104 since January.

The dead man has been identified as Wayne 'Boyun' Henry, a technician of 'Beirut' in Rosemount.

Reports are that, at about 10:50 p.m., Henry and two women were in his yard playing cards when they were approached by a man. It is said that he pulled a firearm and opened fire at them.

Died on the spot

Henry died on the spot, while the injured women were taken to hospital where they were admitted. Detectives from the Area One Scene of Crime Unit also recovered four 9mm casings and a quantity of spent shells.

Henry's killing follows that of36-year-old Troy Duffus in Sammy Bush, Norwood, in the parish on Tuesday morning.

Police say that, at about 2 a.m., gunmen accosted the tour guide as he arrived home.

An alarm was raised by relatives when explosions were heard in the area and calls to Duffus' cellular phone went unanswered. His body was found in bushes at about 5 a.m. during a search of the area after his motorcar was seen parked in the yard.
