There was a big birthday bash down in Montego Bay on Wednesday, while the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica honoured its latest graduates. Plus, thanks to Bank of Nova Scotia, some students will be going to school in style.
Well done ladies! Prunella Vassell, president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ), and Ester Le Gendre (right), head of corporate development of the Association of Chartered Certified Accounts for the Caribbean, with the top performers in the ICAJ Certified Accounting Technician graduation at the Knutsford Court Hotel on Wednesday. The top award winners are (from second left) Sanike Sutherland, recipient of the June 2006 Certified Accounting Technician award for the highest marks in the June 2006 exams; Kay-Ann Gibbs, recipient of the Sushil Jain award for being the youngest graduate from those completing the June 2006 and December 2006 examinations; and Sydoney Seaton, recipient of the ICAJ Certificate Accounting Technician award, who completed the entire programme in three sittings and attained an average of 60 per cent in the December exams.
