published: Monday | August 27, 2007

Trevor Wright (right), Digicel recharge manager, celebrates with Colin Morris, the first winner of the Digicel 'Drive Your Dream' promotion. Morris won the 2007 C-Class Benz in the August draw. More Jamaicans stand a chance to win prizes as two other draws in the promotion will be held in September and October, respectively. - Contributed.

Montego Bay businessman Colin Morris is the first winner of the new 2007 C-Class Mercedes-Benz in the 'Digicel Drive Your Dream' summer competition'.

Morris, who is married with one child, said the prize helped him to fulfill his dream of owning a luxury vehicle.

"I am so overjoyed. This is what I really, really wanted. I can get rid of my Toyota Starlett now," said an elated, teary-eyed Morris, after winning the Benz.

The drag racing enthusiast said this was the first significant prize he had ever won.

"I have won trophies for drag racing in the past, but this is my first big win. It is the first time that I am winning a motor vehicle," Morris said.

Ten finalists got the chance to win the Benz that was up for grabs in the first draw of the 'Drive Your Dream' promotion. Each contestant chose a number which would determine the order in which they would chose one of 10 briefcases guarded by the Digicel girls. One briefcase had the keys to the Benz.

Morris had the fourth pick at the briefcases, arbitrarily choosing briefcase number six. He lucked out to win the burgundy Benz. The other contestants won $100,000 each. One of the cash prize winners, Nickita Richards of Portmore, said the prize money would assist her in paying her tuition fees in her early childhood education studies.

Two more Benz motor cars are to be won in the Digicel summer promotion in September and October respectively.
