Pathetic performance
published: Friday | August 17, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

On Saturday night, in full view of the nation, and indeed the world, the leader of the People's National Party, and the one who has represented herself as the Prime Minister of this country, gave what can best be described as a pathetic and unprepared performance, in promoting herself as more suited to guide the country for another five years.

National leadership requires that the persons seeking the office must, at the very least, be familiar with those issues that affect the majority of the nation's people, and be in a position to offer reasonable and practical solutions to these issues. It was clear to me and many who have expressed similar sentiments, that our current Prime Minister has been acting her way in the office, but was unmasked on Saturday night.

The nation demands a higher level of leadership, and if she cannot provide it herself then, in the interest of the nation, she must be put aside.

I am, etc.,

'The Watchman'
