Cops seek driver of stolen car
published: Thursday | July 26, 2007

The police are expected to issue a missing persons bulletin today as they continue their investigations into the alleged theft of a motor car, which was later confiscated from a member of the Prime Minister's security team.

The missing driver is said to have been operating the car as a robot taxi on the Yallahs route in St. Thomas, at the time it went missing.

While speculation continues regarding the incident, The Gleaner was told that the driver, who was presumed dead, may have fled the island.

Since Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller's bodyguard was caught with the car on Sunday, at least two persons have come forward claiming the vehicle belongs to them.

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Kent Pantry, is expected to make a ruling into the case by the end of the week.

Two other men, one woman and the policeman, who were all in the car, have been detained by the police.
