Miss Jamaica belles on parade

Sovereign Centre in Liguanea came alive with an exciting display of poise, charm and beauty on Saturday afternoon, July 14, when the finalists of Miss Jamaica World (MJM) 2007 paraded and were sashed.

The large enthusiastic crowd that witnessed this spectacular event, really had the time of their lives. Some could be heard saying, "This is the best line-up of beauties vying for the Miss Jamaica World pageant we have seen for a long time."

The finalists were first introduced in Uzuri design and accessories by Xtra's. Their appearance was greeted with screams and shouts.

Swimwear

When the finalists appeared in swimwear by the Mushrooms, choreographed by Bev Corke, the crowd erupted.

Each sponsor selected a contestant through a game of chance via a Supreme Ventures Lotto Machine. The contestants are: Jody Shaw, Miss Optical Solutions; Sasha Lee Gordon, Miss Hisense; Tina Ingram, Miss Captain's Bakery; Kadia Brooks, Miss OCS Electrical and Lighting; Marika Hornsby, Miss Heart Institute of the Caribbean; Raquel Powell, Miss Diet Ting; Natalia Godfrey, Miss Logo Stitch Manufacturing Limited; Rosina Casserly, Miss Muscle Fitness and Health; Angena Thomas, Miss Acropolis Gaming and Entertainment Centre; Camesha Powell, Miss Empire Supermarket; Simone Poot, Miss O'Rileys Rum Cream; Yendi Philips, Miss Perfectil; Tiffany Ellis, Miss Optimum Care; Kristen Woods, Miss Kaboom Internet Energy; Renae Ellis, Miss Jergens; and Kristin Metz, Miss Vanessa Salon.

The grand coronation show will be held at the Jamaica Pegasus on August 18. Heading the list of prizes for the winner of MJW pageant is a trip to Sanya, China, to represent Jamaica in the Miss World pageant this November. Added to the list of prizes are theMiss World wardrobe valued at more than $200,000 and a Spartan Health Club cash award of $100,000.
