Four people were killed in two accidents between Saturday and yesterday morning.

Three of the victims, who are from St. James, died when the cars in which they were travelling crashed in Daniel Town, Trelawny, yesterday.

In the other incident, a 53-year-old man from St. Elizabeth was killed and six others injured in a collision on Highway 2000 on Saturday.

In the Trelawny accident, the police say the drivers of two cars failed to negotiate a corner and crashed into a nearby ravine.

The cars were part of a convoy returning from a dance in south Trelawny. The three victims in that accident have been identified as Salt Spring residents 42-year-old Otis Moore and 26-year-old Kevin Clarke; and 24-year-old Glenford Stewart from Flower Hill.

Three other persons who sustained injuries were hospitalised.

"We were coming along at a nice speed and the corner took us suddenly so wi fly off the road," said a survivor from Moore's car. "When our car went over the gully, we discovered that Kevin's car was over there as well."

Meanwhile, in Saturday's crash on Highway 2000, the police say Ronald Blackwood died after his car collided with a truck.

According to the cops, Blackwood was travelling in a Nissan Serena motor car towards Kingston when the vehicle collided with a Leyland Freighter truck which was travelling in the same direction.

All seven persons sustained injuries and were taken to the Spanish Town Hospital, where Blackwood died while undergoing treatment. Two of the injured six were admitted, while the others were treated and released.
