You already have a sizzling swimsuit but to complete the fashion statement, you need the right accessories.

The fact is the sun can be harmful to your skin, thus it is important to protect yourself with sunscreen lotion. It is just as important to protect your eyes while at the same time being stylish. That is why sunglasses are a must-have to protect your peepers. Another shady essential is a hat which will protect both your face and head.

Other Must-Haves

This is the time your feet are begging to go bare in the hot weather, so step out in comfy flip-flops. They are perfect for the beach, just be sure to have the perfect pedicure.

A woman never goes anywhere without her bag and the beach is no exception, so add spunk and glamour to your look with a funky, bright-coloured beach bag. Make sure it is the right size, not too big or too small, just big enough for all but the kitchen sink!

One cannot forget the cover-ups, whether it's that perfect little dress, wrap, shorts, mesh pants or a multicoloured wrap to complement your swimsuit.

Beach towels are a must and the bigger, the better to spread out on the warm sand or you can lounge on a beach chair while you enjoy the good life.

A novel is always a good thing to bring along. While the children play in the sand making sand castles, you can be cosy under a tree catching up on your reading.

Ease the boredom with a portable radio (with earphones) if you do not feel like reading. Hand-held games are hot also.

You may also want to bring a few fun games such as frisbee or volleyball, to help you have fun in the sun.
