Cop's robbery trial for August
published: Friday | June 8, 2007

The trial of 37-year-old police constable Horace Roberts and two civilians charged in connection with a series of robberies involving returning residents will continue on August 7.

The trial was set to continue on Monday in the Gun Court but was put off because Mr. Justice Courtney Daye is presiding in the Home Circuit Court for the next two weeks.

CHARGES

The civilians are 30-year-old carpenter, Robert Hurl, and 30-year-old labourer, Richard Wart.

The three are charged jointly with 30 counts of robbery with aggravation which allegedly took place between May 2004 and October 2005.

Several witnesses testified at the trial which beganin November last year.
