Former champions Manchester are on the verge of taking first-innings points over Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) in their fifth round Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) Super Cup match at Up Park Camp.
Manchester, joint second on 10 points with Melbourne, will resume today's final day on 91 for one in reply to the JDF's 169.
After a near two-hour delay to the start of the day's play, JDF, batting first, were saved from a lower score by their No. 9 batsman Kamal Dennis, who made 46.
Mark Grey had earlier made 24 for JDF, who along with St. Elizabeth, are joint leaders on 11 points. Off-spinner Donovan Sinclair, 4-42, and left-arm spinner David Powell, 3-28, did the damage for the visitors.
In reply, Manchester lost Jeffrey Scott for eight with the score on 13 but Sinclair joined Gary Graham and the pair saw their team through to the close.
Sinclair, Manchester's top batsman this season, will resume on 45 while Graham is set to carry on from his overnight 36.
