JNBS helps residents with titles
published: Tuesday | May 29, 2007

Unregistered landowners will be able to acquire their land titles through a joint initiative between the Land Administration and Management Project (LAMP) in the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands, and the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS).

JNBS has established a special loan facility through its microfinance arm, JN Small Business Loans Limited (JNSBL), to assist persons with the necessary financing to acquire their titles. Eligible applicants can apply for loans up to $50,000 to pay for their registered titles.

In an effort to sensitise property owners about this loan programme, JNSBL and LAMP have been holding a series of town meetings to provide information about the loan process and the importance of obtaining titles for the land they own or on which they reside.

Tomorrow residents in Spanish Town, Homestead, Sydenham and St John's Road will be able to learn more about accessing this loan facility at a town meeting to be held at the Church of God of Prophecy on Old Harbour Road.
