Enviro action
published: Wednesday | May 23, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

I could not make one more day go by without formally acknowledging the great effort The Gleaner has been making in order to make people aware of environmental concerns.

Almost every day an environmentally themed article is published which challenges the way in which we think and act, which is exactly the decision we should be taking at this crucial time. In the publication on Sunday, May 20, I came upon at least three environmentally related articles addressing the issues of agriculture, water and energy resources.

I know that this, whether directly or indirectly, has had a positive effect on at least the Jamaican community and by continuing to raise such issues through such a prominent medium, we will very soon see a decline or at least an increase at a declining rate in our environmentally related problems locally.

I am, etc.,
