Now 'Satan' hits the hustings
published: Friday | May 11, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

I cannot believe what I read on Wednesday, May 9. Mr. Danny Buchanan, the honourable Minister of Information, along with Rev. Redwood describing Dr. Tufton as Satan.

When Mrs. Webley alluded to the most Honourable Prime Minister as Jezebel, it did not go down well with me. I was watching the action that would have been taken by the JLP if she did not apologise. Honourable Minister and general secretary of the People's National Party, you were outrageous and upbeat about it; now you, Mr. Minister, are calling Mr. Tufton a devil.

The devil is a super man with power, a deceiver, one who wants to frustrate God's plan. An arch enemy of God, he loves power, he is a mischievous person full of evil powers, contentious one who deceives people, one who attacks by temptation, and one who knows that his power is limited. I am not defending Dr. Tufton, but it seems to me that you are dealing with your own self with your old time politics, your behaviour and attitude is of the past.

Mr. Minister, I think you and the Rev. Redwood should be ashamed. We don't want any more old-time politics.

I am, etc.,
