Group seeks help to repatriate body of murdered Jamaican national
published: Thursday | May 10, 2007

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua (CMC):

A Jamaican organisation in Antigua launched a public appeal on Tuesday for financial assistance to help repatriate the body of a murdered woman who was killed in Antigua last February.

Andy McDonald, a member of the Jamaica/Antigua Association, said the group is seeking an estimated EC$15,000 (US$5,500) to send the remains of 31-year-old Stacy Hall back to Jamaica for burial.

McDonald said the association only became aware of the situation recently, and held a meeting last weekend to address the matter.

He said the woman, who was strangled after she witnessed a robbery at a brothel where she worked, is survived by three children and her family has been unable to raise the funds to transport the body to Jamaica.

A man has been charged with her murder.
