St. Ann and Hanover scored outright wins in the opening round of the Red Stripe Championship on the weekend.At Elgin Town: Kenneth Beckford took seven second innings wickets to lead Hanover to a 48-run win over St. Thomas, while Portland and Police took first innings points off Boys' Town and St. Catherine parish.

At Kaiser: St. Ann defeated St. Mary by seven wickets.

At Folly: Boys' Town were dismissed for 86 in their first innings. Damion Allen top-scored 40 against Carl Brissett (5-35).
Portland made 239-8 declared in their turn at bat with Damion Gray getting 87 against Phillip Keating 4-58.
Boys' Town were 117-8 at the close. Allen was 38 not out.
At Port Esquivel: Ordane Hutchinson scored the first century of the season.
Hutchinson scored 131, Ricardo Howe, 57, and Renford Pinnock, 57, against Colin Buchanan (4-48).
