Addlery signs for DC
published: Tuesday | May 1, 2007

WASHINGTON, DC (CMC)

Former Jamaica youth international Nicholas Addlery has signed up with U.S. Major League Soccer (MLS) team DC United for the current 2007 season.

DC United confirmed Addlery this past week to fill the final spot on their 28-man roster.

"Nicholas has impressed us during the last few weeks of training and he has earned the opportunity to be on our roster," said United technical director Dave Kasper.

During his trial, Addlery scored two goals in the team's reserve outing against Harrisonburg earlier in the month. Per Major League Soccer policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Addlery, an ex-Jamaica Under-20 and Under-23 international, comes to DC United after stints in Trinidad and Tobago, Vietnam and the United Soccer Leagues (USL).

He spent parts of 2003 and 2005 in the Trinidad and Tobago first division playing for CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh and Star World Strikers FC. His Vietnamese team was Dong Nai FC.

The six-foot-one-inch, 185-pound forward has a green card and played US Collegiate football for California University of Pennsylvania from 1999-2002.
