Jamaica Producers to make workers redundant
published: Tuesday | April 3, 2007

The positions of 20 workers employed to the Jamaica Producers Group Limited are to be made redundant next week Friday.

The company said this is part of a restructuring exercise.

According to the Group's divisional director, Jeffrey Hall, the restructuring is part of a plan to reorganise the Jamaica Producers Group into a holding company.

He said the employees to be affected work mainly in the Corporate Area at the Serious Food Company and Producers Holdings.

According to Mr. Hall, as part of the restructuring exercise, certain corporate services that are now provided by the company's head offices to its subsidiaries will be absorbed within its business units.
