AFTER JAMAICA turned in a tepid performance in their 1-1 draw with Panama at the National Stadium on Monday night, coach Velibor 'Bora' Milutinovic promised the spectators better displays in the future.

"I am very satisfied. The game was very good. We create some options. We marked very well and I hope to give the supporters more satisfaction in the future," said Milutinovic.

Prior to the game, Milutinovic repeatedly said the public should not watch the immediate results now.

But one spectator, Conrad Johnson, who works at Courts, was not so satisfied, voicing his anger at the team's "poor" performance.

"Is now mi pay mi money, I want good results now. Is not free mi come in. Bora better know wah him a do," Johnson said.

Early strike

The Reggae Boyz, just as they did against Switzerland last Thursday, fell behind to an early strike from Jos Luis Garces.

In the fourth minute, Garces found himself with oceans of space in the box and rifled home past goalkeeper Allien Whittaker at his near post to stun the stadium into silence.

The Reggae Boyz rallied with the razor-sharp Luton Shelton, Mario Swaby, Nicholy Findlayson and Fabian Taylor leading the way.

It was no surprise when Shelton, who had been terrorising the Panamanian defenders with his pace and skill, found the equalising goal in the 45th minute.

The Sheffield United striker volleyed home a Ricardo Gardner corner that was flicked on by Lovel Palmer.

The second half never lived up to expectations as the game petered out into a tame draw to the disappointment of about 10,000 fans.

Ordinary performance

Captain Gardner, returning to 'The Office' for the first time since 2004, never looked sharp and turned in an ordinary performance.

The Bolton player admitted to not having a good game.

"It was not one of my best games today, but coming back from injury I am getting back there," Gardner said. "At the end of the day, we didn't lose and that's what practice games are for. We are getting better and better for when the qualifying games come up."

Jamaica: Allien Whittaker, Jermaine Taylor, Demar Phillips, Christopher Harvey, Mario Swaby (Adrian Reid), Donald Stewart (Keneil Moodie), Nicholy Finlay-son (Fabian Davis), Lovel Palmer (Kavin Bryan), Fabian Taylor (Andr Redwood), Luton Shelton, Ricardo Gardner.
