FITNESS CLUB - Want to improve your sex life? Then exercise
published: Wednesday | March 28, 2007

Kenneth Gardner

The surest natural way to sharpen sexual appetite and increase sexual activity is through regular physical exercise. Recent studies reveal a direct correlation between physical exercise and increased potency levels.

Developing muscular strength, flexibility and endurance are also essential in improving your sex life.

Research reveals that a low sex drive is often caused by stress and fatigue. Regular exercise, along with a healthy diet and adequate rest, can boost your libido (sexual urge or desire).

A university of California study of middle-aged, sedentary men found that after just one hour of exercise, three times a week, the men demonstrated improved sexual function, engaged in frequent sex, experienced better orgasms and reported a complete feeling of satisfaction. Similar results were obtained among a group of women in their 40s.

A physically fit person is more likely to fully enjoy sex compared to a non-fit person. Furthermore, sex can be as much mental as it is physical. Looking and feeling healthy can increase your self-esteem and make you feel more attractive.

Researchers connect a good exercise programme and other healthy activities, such as good eating habits, smoking cessation and getting plenty of rest, with having a positive effect on sexual performance for persons of all ages.

Beginning a fitness routine will definitely make a difference in your sex life. Push-ups, abdominal exercises and squats are beneficial exercises to add to an aerobic routine. They strengthen the shoulders, abdominal muscles and legs.
