Bobby's bowlinggone wide
published: Tuesday | March 27, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

Bobby Pickersgill's spinner on the Jamaica leg of Cricket World Cup has gone wide. His next delivery should explain Jamaica's failure to catch the thousands of tourists that were to fill the hotels and the private homes. His next googly should explain the absence of the new ambulances and the much publicised medical resources when they were actually needed in the Woolmer case. That one has hit us all for a six; and the wide world is watching. Next bumper: Has the first $2-million-per-month been paid for the upkeep of the now idle Trelawny stadium? Bobby is bowling underhand when he claims that Bruce is stumped because CWC will give the PNP another innings. In fact, the whole country is stumped, for when this thing is over our money too will be run-out. We won't be dancing because this is no ball.

I am, etc.,

KEN JONES
