Greenidge, Rowe for Portmore

FORMER WEST Indies stars Gordon Greenidge and Lawrence Rowe are scheduled to take the fieldin Portmore today.

The occasion, a 40-over match, is part of the Portmore Week of Celebration at the Bridgeport Sports Club Cricket Ground starting at 11:00 a.m.

Greenidge, a Barbadian, is rated one of the finest opening batsman of all-time, while Rowe is considered one of Jamaica?s best batsmen, only behind George Headley.

Jamaica captain Wavell Hinds is also listed to play in the match sponsored by SDC and Petcom.

Test experience

Nehemiah Perry and David Bernard are other players with Test experience down to play alongside former and present Jamaican players, include Tamar Lambert, Renford Pinnock, Terrence Cooke, Wayne Lewis, Delroy Morgan, and Andrew Richardson and also Lloyd Black and Osmond Erskine, former Jamaica youth representatives.

Garfield Wileman and Austin Hutchinson from the United States cricket team along with Mohammed Hussain from Pakistan are among the invited overseas players.
