Work on the Kingston stadium is winding down for cricket's showpiece event, the World Cup, which officially bowls off on March 13 with hosts the West Indies challenging the plucky Pakistanis.
The crew is applying the finishing touches, the overlay being the last major job. For the uninitiated, the overlay really encompasses the temporary utilities and infrastructure that is easily handled like turnstiles.
Engineers Ashtrom had a few hiccups along the way, the most notable being the cement shortage in early 2006, but the park is now ready to host the globe's greatest battle between bat and ball.
