Bodies found on Molynes Road
published: Thursday | February 22, 2007

While many Christians were preparing for morning mass on Ash Wednesday, yesterday, the St. Andrew Central Police were conducting investigations surrounding the discovery of two male bodies in the trunk of a motor car on Sundown Crescent, off Molynes Road in St. Andrew.

The men have been identified as Howard Clarke and Samuel Bolton, both of Bedward Gardens, August Town.

Inspector Webster Francis, of the Central Kingston police, said the men may have been murdered elsewhere and taken in the vehicle to that location.

"We are still investigating to find out the motive and we also have no proper information to speak to their background or history," said Inspector Francis.

Think positively

Despite this violent act on Ash Wednesday, Monsignor Richard Albert said that Jamaicans should think positively of the sacred season.

"We don't think (negatively) or talk that way of Ash Wednesday or Lent," said Monsignor Albert.

"For us the goal is to spend those 40 days looking to grow closer to the Lord," he added.

At least 218 persons have been murdered since the start of the year.
