LASCO Top Cops, Inspector Linroy Edwards, who walked away with the title on Tuesday, and Superintendent Steve McGregor, winner in 2000, were among 86 officers promoted by Police Commissioner Lucius Thomas, yesterday.

The group, which includes a number of "front-line crime fighters" was summoned to the Police Officer Club, St. Andrew, for the official announcements by Commissioner Thomas.

Forty-three sergeants were promoted to the rank of inspector. They included Dodrick Henry, a fearless street cop, who worked at the CIB Headquarters in downtown Kingston, and the Special Anti-Crime Task Force (SACTF).

He is now working in the Kingston Central division.
