Crime fighters to be officially promoted today
published: Thursday | February 15, 2007

Several front-line crime fighters are among a list of sergeants, inspectors and deputy superintendents who have been summoned to a special meeting this afternoon by Police Commissioner Lucius Thomas, who will officially inform them of their promotions.

The list include some sub-officers who have been stagnated in one rank for more than 10 years. Reports are that the officers have been invited to the Police Officers Club, St. Andrew, by Commissioner Thomas.

The Gleaner understands that the promotions will be followed by a batch of transfers across a number of divisions. Last year more than 200 members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force were promoted to various ranks, from constable up to assistant commissioner.
