Joe the taxi man: Sex for money
published: Monday | January 29, 2007

Ever taken a taxi and heard the stories they exchange over their radios? Being on the road almost 24/7 they have some of the most interesting and outrageous stories to tell. A taxi ride is like a prime time comedy special. Some of these stories are so good we couldn't keep them to ourselves so every month we will share the stories of 'Joe the taxi man'.

While heading to Half-Way Tree one afternoon, I began talking to the taxi driver. Almost inevitably, the conversation came around to women.

Joe related an incident where he met a fine-looking young miss in a club and after hanging out for a while they decided to 'get physical'.

"She started bringing up argument about school fee and her children and all kind of stuff. Then I realised what was going on," he related. This little rendezvous wasn't just about physical attraction, but a business transaction.

No longer interested

No longer interested, he asked the young woman to put her clothes back on. That's when it really got ridiculous.

"She was saying 'but mi tek off mi clothes a'ready'. I said, 'no sweetheart, put on back your clothes. I'm not kidding. I will leave you here,'" he remembered.

Slowly she got the point. Joe was adamant that sexual intercourse under these conditions was not going to happen because as he puts it, he never bought 'that thing' in all his life.

Some women believe that once they have sex with a man it means they should get 'a little something' in return. In essence, the 'relationship' is like an escort service. The concept of give and take now means she gives her body and you take out your wallet. Some guys will have nothing to do with it; including Joe.

Examination

"If you as a man feel that she has 'something' that you can't do without, then you're in trouble," says Joe. He feels that men need to examine what relationships they have with these women and more importantly, what the relationships are based on. He also thinks some women need to have a greater sense of self worth.

"If a woman is proud of the fact that she uses her body to get what she wants, that's sad."

On the flip side, he doesn't know of any woman who is with a guy only for his 'tool'.

"A relationship has got to be based on more than that," he concluded.
