Iyante, Friendship clash in semi-final showdown today

NEWCOMERS IYANTE and Friendship will meet in today's feature semi-final showdown of the Jamaica Table Tennis Association (JTTA)/National Northwest Development Club League at the University of the West Indies' (UWI) Rex Nettleford Hall.

Former champions Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) will oppose Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) in the other Division One semi-final at the same venue.

Action will serve off with the Division Three quarter-finals at 10:00 a.m. with Iyante opposing JUTC, St. Ann Bauxite tackling Highgate United, defending champions Pembroke Hall I meeting Alpart and Windalco Kirkvine Sports Club I facing JDF. Defending champions Pembroke Hall have won the title five times in the past eight years.

At noon, the successful Division Three quarter-finalists will meet and the Division Two and One semi-finals will also be played.

In the Division Two semis, Iyante will oppose defending champions Windalco Kirkvine Sports Club I while Friendship face former champions Pembroke Hall.

The women's Division One semi-finals will be contested at 2:00 p.m. with defending champions Melbourne tackling Windalco KSC and Pembroke Hall taking on UWI.

The finals in Division Two and Three will be played at 4:00 p.m., followed by the finals for the women's section and Division One at 6:00 p.m.

A presentation and awards ceremony will take place at the end of the finals.
