Goodyear relocates... Says fire won't impede performance
published: Wednesday | January 24, 2007

Goodyear Jamaica Limited has moved to 248 Spanish Town Road, following a January 12 Queen's Warehouse fire that damaged its administrative offices at No. 230 and claimed some of its tyre inventory.

The company also said it resumed shipment to customers on January 19, saying that at the time of the blaze some of its stock was in transit.

"The administrative offices and a large percentage of the tyre inventory were damaged by the fire," said Goodyear in a filing of information to the Jamaica Stock Exchange.

"However, several containers of tyres were already at the Kingston Wharf and in-transit prior to the incident."

Additionally, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company initiated shipments of tyres from around the world to cover supply shortfalls, the company said.

It also advised that all of its financial data is secure, and has told the JSE it does not expect the fire to negatively impact its performance going forward.
