Last chance to impress
published: Friday | December 15, 2006

THE island's top cricketers will have their last chance to impress the selectors when the final Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) Trial match bowls off today at Chedwin Park.

So far only, Shane Powell with a breathtaking century last Sunday and Lorenzo Ingram last Friday have reached triple figures.

While Powell may need to do more after his 149, Ingram appears to have cemented a space as an all-rounder.

Apart from his 101, Ingram has impressed with other useful scores, while he has grabbed a few wickets with his left-arm spin. Carlton Baugh may not be at his best behind the stumps, but his batting has produced two half centuries.

David Bernard, Danza Hyatt, Tamar Lambert and Donovan Pagon, who has struggled so far, are some of the batsmen vying for place while spinners Nikita Miller, Odean Brown, and Bevon Brown, along with pacers Dwight Washington, Dwight Stewart and Jermaine Lawson are the leading bowlers at the trials.
