Gracious Lord and Father of mankind, on this World AIDS Day, we pause to remember all those who are infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
We remember those who tend to the sick in the various hospices, such as Good Shepherd Foundation, in Montego Bay, Best Care, in St. Catherine, and Matthew 25:40, in Kingston. Bless them in their work of helping to relieve suffering and enabling others to experience quality life.
We remember those whose lives are dedicated to the search for treatments and cure for AIDS.
We bring before you the victims of AIDS, especially the children; deliver them, O God, from those who discriminate against and stigmatise them, preventing them from living a normal life.
We pray for Jamaica AIDS Support for Life and other supporting bodies and their teams, that they will not be weary in
well-doing.
Grant us courage to deal with this pandemic.
Grant us compassion to deal with all who are infected by the virus.
Grant us the resources to facilitate the timely research to find effective treatment and cure for HIV/AIDS.
Grant us conviction to change our lifestyles so that the pandemic be contained.
Hear our prayer, O Lord,
Amen
