Muppets of Christmas past, present and future
published: Friday | December 1, 2006

The catchy songs and familiar Muppets work and may well make this movie a keepsake for the family

Movie Title: The Muppet Christmas Carol Genre: Children's musical

Rating:(average)

Running Time: 85 minutes

Bonus Features: Audio commentary, behind the scenes footage and interviews, Gag Reel (bloopers), features on various Christmas traditions.

Who's In It: Academy Award-winner, Michael Caine, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and a host of other Muppets.

What It's About: The movie retells Charles Dickens' A Christmas Story with a fun, Muppet twist.

Gonzo the Great plays Charles Dickens, the narrator, who takes us through Ebenezer Scrooge's life-changing journey from a shrewd, penny-pinching villain to a free-spirited, charitable person.

One Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future, who help him to realise the true meaning of Christmas and get him to change his ways.

Kermit the Frog plays Scrooge's faithful worker, Bob Cratchit, while Miss Piggy plays his wife.

The humble Cratchit family also helps Scrooge to realise that there is more to life than money.

Michael Caine plays a convincing Scrooge and his interaction with the Muppets is flawless.

No Muppet movie would be complete without hilarious characters and songs and this one doesn't disappoint. Rizzo the Rat, Gonzo's loveable, smart-mouthed sidekick, provides humour with his antics and retorts.

Long Story Short: Children will love this movie. The catchy songs and familiar Muppets work and may well make this movie a keepsake for the family.

The Reel Lowdown: If you liked the other Muppet productions and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, you'll love this.

Ratings:(Save your money),(Poor),(Average),(A+ entertainment),(Must see at all cost).
