published: Tuesday | November 21, 2006

Danny DeVito, Oscar Award nominee and actor, is considered the world's most famous dwarf. He is said to be four feet, 10 inches.

A human dwarf is considered to be a grown person four feet, 10 inches, and under.

The distinguishing symptom of dwarfism is abnormally and significantly shorter physical stature with respect to other persons in the same age cohort, and especially in adults who have stopped growing. Many conditions that cause dwarfism also have other distinctive symptoms.
