Youth awards
Also at yesterday's event, the newspaper again presented its youth awards for excellence. They went to Racquel Whyte, top GSAT performer in 2006; Rosanna Pike, 2006 Spelling Bee Champion; Kevin Williams who received 10 distinctions in the 2006 CSEC examinations; and Daynea Wallock for maintaining an A average at the tertiary level.
"The importance of youth development cannot be overstated, and our young achievers are standard-bearers for their peers," said Mr. Grandison. They represent our hope for a prosperous Jamaica."
